Wifey was using laptop on the bed... went to toss iphone on the bed... hit laptop in the face.

I am thinking that it burned out something on the motherboard as I have tried two vendors already for a replacement screen. Each one has just had the shadow display on the screen, but the bulb does not power on to light up the screen.

However, it lights up if I plug in the old screen so something is weird...

Sad thing is that I need a laptop for school starting next Thursday so I looked on e-bay to buy a used D420 since I can just take off all of the accessories on my laptop.

Cost of used D420 - $250...
cost of new LCD - $225.

Teh lolz. UPS delivered today a smashed LCD screen. I looked at it for a second and recognized that it was the screen I RMA'ed to the screen vendor. Guess it never made it back to them. I called them up and they were like, well I guess that makes two claims that I'm going to call them about today... moral: UPS SUCKS, FEDEX for the win!!!
